Enchanting forest flowers concept at The Poacher and Partridge

It’s been a staggering five years since we were first comissioned to overhaul the floral styling across the Elite Pubs Group portfolio of restaurants and bars.

So, we were over the moon when we were invited back again to reimagine and update our first ever botanical concept for the group at The Poacher and Partridge in Tudeley, Kent.

This beautiful country pub is nestled amongst orchards and sourrounded by the rolling fields of the Kentish countryside.

Working with the existing flower decorations, the team briefed us to overhaul the floral décor with an updated and refreshed concept.

A key aspect of this botanical transformation was to recycle and repurpose the existing faux flowers to provide a new look and feel whilst respecting existing design and colour considerations.

Our solution was to rework the existing window installation, revamp the flower chandeliers and add new climbing floral installations to create an immersive and evocative woodland forest theme.

Creating the fruits of the forest flowers theme and styling

Given the name of this venue we drew our starting inspiration from the red-legged French partridge. Introduced from its native France in the 17th century - you can now spot these attractively marked partridges with their distinctive red legs across the South and East of the UK, roaming in wide open fields.

We imagined that this partridge was hiding out within an enchanted forest of flowers, where each flower holds a secret and every bloom tells a story.

As you step into the venue you are immersed into a forest woodland.

With every step, you discover new colours that dance in harmony with the lilac restaurant branding coupled with a contrasting palette of greens and striking red accents to represent the partridge’s characteristic red legs.

Our floral vision promotes feelings of transformation and renewal to symbolise the partridge's annual molting cycle, where it sheds old feathers and grows new ones, depicting the cycle of life and regeneration.

The floral journey begins with the revamped entrance installation featuring a stunning array of faux wisteria, mimosa and dancing cosmos.

This refreshes the existing purple wisteria by injecting pops of yellow, blue and green whilst beautifully softening the wooden french doors and tin roof structure above.

Floral chandeliers enhance the woodland forest theme & experience

Continuing into the main dining area, we lowered the existing floral chandeliers with hand woven willow spheres to add more drama whilst ensuring the ceiling flowers were visible before entering the restaurant.

The chandeliers offer a stunning focal point beautifully cascading overhead and are bursting with our branded colour pallete of red, lilac and and contrasting shades of green.

Our faux floral choices feature the existing whimsical wisteria in a pastel lilac shade with added red peonies alongside leafy green foliage, ferns and textured moss.

We additionally dressed the venue with a series of our signature climbing flower installations.

Designed to gently meander across the wooden beams, walls and ceiling areas to add cohestion and further accentuate the floral forest impact.

The stunning climbing installations are bursting with a medley of forest florals comprising of peonies, daisies, roses, viburnum, catkins and berries celebrating the variety, textures, movement and colours of the fruits of the forest.

To finalise our immersive concept, we dressed and enhanced the oustside terrace area with another accent installation to match the entrace display.

Working again with the existing clusters of purple wisteria, we overhauled the outside area by rebuilding the structures to extend up the pillars, along the central beam and up onto the ceiling in key places.

We added yellow mimosa again to contrast and lift the colour against the dark corrugated sheeting, bringing the design across the ceiling for more three-dimensional coverage to maximise the available space.

To complete the terrace and we added six flowering hanging planters to extend the botanical look onto the back wall and into the corners to soften the outside space further.
