The Pheasant Plucker is the latest addition to the Elite Pubs family, adding venue number 10 to their already impressive portfolio of pubs, restaurants, and cocktail bars across Kent & East Sussex.
This stunning venue is set in the idyllic rural location of Ide Hill, Sevenoaks and will be ready to open on April 12th 2021. Following a full renovation to blend its glorious historical past with the contemporary country chic and relaxed family atmosphere you can expect from The Elite Pubs Group.
Previously known as The Woodman, Elite Pubs made the decision to rename the venue to The Pheasant Plucker, drawing on inspiration from the past to better reflect its fascinating history.
Harking back to its historical routes; the first wife of Willian Amherst, who inherited the Montreal Estate from his great uncle, apparently introduced the first Chinese pheasant to England and thus the appropriate new name was given.
All hands have been to the deck with the refurbishment which has been respectfully renovated, while retaining much of the traditional character. Boasting beautiful exposed beams, cosy fireplaces, and charming quintessential nooks and crannies, all adding to the venues appeal.
Charming woodland experience greets guests on arrival
As a specialist supplier to Elite Pubs, we were delighted to be asked to come up with a new floral concept to compliment the refurbishment. We wanted to depict all the colours of pheasant feathers, and tailor our floral installations to complement the fantastic hand painted artistry by Tony Foster. These two elements combined with the rural location all add to the wonderful woodland essence you are captured by on arrival.
Moving through the pub we were inspired by forgotten estate gardens and the rambling hedgerows that surround the venue. We began by designing a concept to reflect these; incorporating florals including Hollyhocks at the entrance, Blackberries and Clematis throughout the canopy, and wild Roses that meander up the stairs.
Each installation tells its own story
The floral canopy creates an experience for guests to walk through, giving the feeling of being surrounded by nature. Upstairs we have chosen a softer peach floral palette, to fully embrace the exquisite rattan lighting and furniture. Incorporating a clever hint of blue to pull out the Elite signature painted wooden cladding.
All areas have been carefully designed and intently thought out, bringing the colours of the upholstery and interior features together creating a beautiful harmony.
Guests will also see a range of hanging planters, giving a botanical essence to other areas of the restaurant, subconsciously creating a comfortable environment to be enjoyed in every corner.

Outdoor bookings are available from Monday, April 12th, with indoor reservations following on Monday, May 17th in line with the latest government guidelines.
