Floral Makeover at Fletcher’s House, Rye with Decorative Floral Designs & Opulent Flowers
Transforming guest experiences with our decorative floral designs
In the heart of Rye, a picture-perfect Tudor town on Kent’s historic coastline, sits Fletcher’s House, a 15th-century restaurant steeped in character.
Brimming with heritage and storybook charm, the venue offers a unique dining experience that blends rustic character with contemporary hospitality. With its timber beams, leaded windows, and centuries of character, this atmospheric space was already a destination but Fletcher’s House owner Lisa Tindall was looking to enhance the space further with unique floral decor to transform key guest experiences throughout the year.
HeiDeisgns were recently invited to reimagine the interior decor, this case study explores how our decorative floral designs breathe new life into this already enchanting setting into a refined, botanical escape laden with opulent faux florals ideal for brunches, afternoon teas, and elegant grazing experiences.
Through our seasonal floral strategy, we’ve helped the venue not only captivate its guests but also remain visually engaging and relevant throughout the year, even during quieter periods.
The dining space upstairs has been transformed with a range of our signature climbing garlands perfectly complementing the tudor character and existing decor.
A vision of quiet luxury that celebrates the heritage of the building
When venue owner Lisa Tindall approached us, the brief was clear. Lisa envisioned a space that felt relaxed yet luxurious that makes every guest feel special, whether they are celebrating a milestone or simply dropping in for coffee and a quiet read.
“ Our aim was to create a nice, relaxed yet opulent ambience for our guests,” explains the owner. “We want them to feel like they’ve stepped into somewhere unique and memorable even if it’s just for a quiet coffee.”
It was important to Lisa that our decorative floral designs cater to the diverse ways guests use the space, from elegant brunches and indulgent high teas to milestone birthdays but without overshadowing the heritage of the building.
Crucially, the floral transformation needed to work with and not against the building’s historic fabric.
This meant carefully layering the faux blooms in a way that lifted the space without overpowering its natural charm.
opulent flowers Create a floral dialogue with history
With a long-standing creative partnership already in place, the owner trusted our creative solution completely and gave us the freedom to dream up something that felt true to the space and the guest experience.
“Heidi can literally get in my head and turn that into a magical floral reality, she’s able to transform ideas exactly as I picture them.”
One of the most unique aspects of this project was balancing floral drama with architectural character. The dark timber beams and vintage chandeliers provide a beautiful canvas but one that risked feeling heavy without contrast. The venue’s rich Tudor bones were a gift but also a challenge. The space needed lightness, texture, and lift calling for a deeply creative and sensitive, venue specific approach. Every corner, colour choice, and placement had to honour the rich heritage of the building, while bringing new layers of visual texture and depth.
Working closely with Lisa we translated her vision into a floral storytelling narrative using a range of premium opulent flowers, curated with faux foilage textures and luxury floral embellishments of gold faux leaf to soften key architectural features.
We opted for a blend of pink floral décor offering tonal balance and soft structure to brighten the darker wood tones of the Tudor interior lifting the space while still respecting its original character. Our decorative floral designs work in harmony with the building’s features, not against them adding softness, femininity, and flow. The result is a transformation that feels both seamless and striking respecting the building’s story while injecting new energy into the historic space.
Lisa said: “I felt like this beautiful open room needed brightening up, the darker beams give it so much character, but it always felt a bit dark and not quite alive. The use of opulent flowers have elevated the room, heightened the elegance, and brought a sense of lightness that complements the space perfectly.”
From sketch to styling, every element was custom-designed, from structural floral moments above the dining space to soft, inviting touches along the walls, all crafted with luxury artificial flowers for year-round impact and sustainability perfectly suited for a high-footfall hospitality venue.
The realistic textures and seasonal flexibility of faux florals allow the venue to maintain an always-fresh, always-on visual standard without the waste or cost of constantly replacing fresh flowers.
Lisa informed us: “The flowers look real. You’d never know they’re artificial. Real blooms would have needed replacing every three days. This is sustainable, cost-effective and beautiful, it just makes sense.”
pink floral décor Enhances signature dining experiences
What began as a styling brief quickly became a full-scale visual experience strategy. The installation supports key guest experiences with a soft pallete of delicate pink and blush florals elevating the venue’s positioning and redefining how guests feel from the moment they step inside.
“It used to feel a little dark,” the owner reflects. “Now, it feels alive, elegant, light, and like you’ve arrived somewhere truly special.”
Our decorative floral designs offer more than a backdrop, they are a key part of the storytelling. Each arrangement has been thoughtfully tailored to support specific guest experiences the venue is known for. From refined afternoon tea flower arrangements to joyful birthday floral decorations, each floral detail was intentionally crafted to enhance the venue’s experiences.
Opulent Afternoon Tea Sittings
High Tea at Fletcher’s House is one of its most celebrated offerings. We designed afternoon tea flower arrangements that enhance this cherished ritual using soft, romantic tones and layered textures to make every sitting feel like a celebration.
Our floral design centres on creating an environment that feels luxurious and welcoming with effortless classic elegance.
Statement floor to ceiling florals and delicate garlands frame key spaces with soft pastel floral styling that feels romantic, and immersive.
“I feel like the high tea experience that people are getting now is high-end and opulent,” said the owner. “People feel special when they come in. The floral installation has been a key part of this.”
Brunch Occasions That Feel Fresh and Uplifting
Brunches at the venue are light-hearted and sociable and our brunch flowers were designed to mirror that.
We introduced soft blushes, greenery and airy textures to create a fresh, botanical atmosphere that pairs beautifully with daylight and relaxed service.
Birthday Floral Decorations that make an impression
Fletcher’s House also plays host to milestone birthdays and intimate celebrations. Our installations for these occasions were designed to frame private dining areas by enhancing shared corners with bursts of colour and richness.
These birthday floral decorations ensure that each celebration feels bespoke and personal, bringing a sense of occasion without overwhelming the setting.
The florals provide a stunning backdrop for celebratory grazing, prosecco toasts, and photo-worthy moments helping guests feel celebrated and seen.
Positioning Fletcher’s House as a visual Destination
The impact of this floral transformation has extended far beyond aesthetics, it has enhanced the guest experience, elevated the venue’s offerings, and positioned it as a destination in its own right. The decorative floral designs have played a pivotal role in making the venue feel luxurious and immersive, providing an environment that draws guests in and makes them feel special.
The use of our signature opulent flowers have not only elevated the ambiance but also positioned Fletcher’s House as a sought-after visual destination that surprises and delights both locals and visiting guests, even during quieter months outside peak tourist season.
More than just decoration, the floral installations at Fletcher’s House have become part of its brand identity.
For hospitality venues looking to stand out, especially during quieter periods, this kind of seasonal floral transformation can be a powerful tool for guest retention.
“You often don’t get that immersive ambiance and experience out of the city, and that’s what we wanted to achieve here in Rye. I feel truly blessed that we’ve been able to bring this level of design into our historic space to not only showcase the building, but amplify what we do and offer.”
It’s been a true joy working on this project and the team at HeiDesigns extend thanks to everyone at Fletcher’s House for making us feel so welcome and for trusting us to bring this floral vision to life. We asked Lisa to comment on her experience of working with us and she shared these kind words:
